Fragrances: Genies from the bottle

Scent Curation encompasses all of Sebastian Fischenich’s projects in which scent and perfume play a prominent role. While studying art, fashion, and design, Sebastian discovered the world of perfumery and olfactory concepts as an important medium for his design work. After earning a degree in design from the Berlin University of the Arts, he developed perfumes for numerous renowned luxury brands and perfume houses and continues to work in this field as a consultant and strategist.

He is particularly interested in the communication of scent through images and installations, as well as the relationship between scents and images as a means of communication.

In 2008 he co-founded the luxury perfume brand Humiecki & Graef with Tobias Müksch and assumed the role of creative director. The brand’s philosophy is to deconstruct the classic approach of luxury perfumery. Each fragrance is inspired by strong emotions that are rather unusual for the perfume world, such as anger, melancholy, or exuberant joy. The perfumer is the multi-award-winning creator Christophe Laudamiel.

Sebastian is also the co-initiator of the Scent Festival Association, founded in Switzerland in 2016, which organized the first Swiss Scent Festival at Wildegg Castle in 2017, bringing together perfumers Christophe Laudamiel, Laurence Fanuel, Ralf Schwieger, and Andreas Wilhelm, among others.
